本研究では、フィレンツェのサンタ･クローチェ教会における主礼拝堂に描かれたアーニョロ･ガッディ作フレスコ画『聖十字架物語』（1380頃）の修復によって得られた調査データと、アーニョロの弟子チェンニーニが記した当時の技法書『絵画術の書』に則って、同壁画に施された工芸的装飾技法（1．漆喰盛り上げによる円光の技法、2．蜜蝋盛り上げの技法、3，金属箔の技法）の具体的な材料と技法プロセスを実証的に解明した。
In this study, I demonstratively explored the process of the techniques of decorative art crafts (1. The technique of making nimbuses with stucco bosses, 2. The technique of embossing beeswax, and 3. The technique of using metal leaves). I also used many precious resources that I was able to collect while restoring the fresco ‘The Legend of the True Cross’ made by Agnolo Gaddi in Santa Croce, Italy (1380), and ‘Il libero dell’arte’ (`The Craftsman’s Handbook’) which is said to be the bible of techniques of western classic painting written by Ciennino Cennini who is a pupil of Agnolo Gaddi.
