Finishing is an important processing technology in manufacturing because it can create excellent friction and wear characteristics and a beautiful appearance. In this study, we have developed a theory of gyro finishing, which is expected to be used as a finishing technology for complex shapes such as molds and ornaments.
We developed an evaluation technique for the behavior of the abrasive media on the workpiece surface. Additionally, we clarified that the finishing characteristics under wet conditions drastically are improved owing to preventing the abrasive media clogging.
研磨加工は,優れた摩擦摩耗特性や美しい外観などを創成できるため,ものづくりにおいて重要な加工技術である.本研究では,金型や装飾品といった複雑形状に対する研磨技術として期待されるジャイロバレル研磨の理論構築に取組んだ.
本研究では,加工面での研磨メディア(小形砥石)挙動の評価技術を開発した.また,加工面でのメディア挙動に基づき,湿式条件では研磨メディアの目詰まりを抑制できるため,乾式条件と比べ大幅に研磨特性を向上できることを明らかにした.
