The influences of ac magnetic fields on human functions, however, have not yet been fully examined, hence it becomes important to establish the safty level for human body of high ac magnetic field. On this study, we have investigated the influences of ac magnetic fields on the development and behavior of the nematode, Caenorhabditis elegans, as one of the fundamental biological experiments. And we use the multilayer eddy-current type high ac magnetic field generator as a magnetic field source. As the experiment, the nematode has been exposed to high ac magnetic field about 1.2T at 60Hz during 10 minuites every 3 hours from hatching to the start of egg laying. As a result, we have observed that a high ac magnetic field causes the decrease of 9% in brood size and the delay in the start of egg laying. Hence we have confirmed the delay of growth. Moreover, the abnormal behaviors such as disruptive reversals and backward movement were also observed. The exposed nematode of 49 percent shows these abnormal behaviors.
