          <datacite:description descriptionType="Abstract">In this report, the effects of fuel injector orifice configuration on the combustion performance were studied experimentally, for a high super-charged middle speed.DJ diesel engine. 
1)	The concentration distribution of burnt gas in the longitudinal direction of cylinder was governed by the angle of collision of fuel jet on the surface of piston crown.
2)	Most homogeneous distribution was obtained by directing the fuel jet to the surface of piston crown where the distribution of air in the combustion chamber is maximum. Under this condition, the speed of heat release and the conversion efficiency of effective heat for gas to the indicated work were largest.
3)	Super-charging pressure caused no change to the concentration distribution of burnt gas in the cylinder.</datacite:description>
