These datum planes are marked by the first appearance of Praeglobotruncana gibba, Rotalipora greenhornensis, Rotalipora deeckei, Marginotruncana schneegansi and Marginotruncana pseudolinneiana, and the last appearance of Rotalipora deeckei and Rotalipora cushmani. These datum planes can be correlated with international Cretaceous planktonic foraminiferal zones in the interval KS17-KS22. Seventeen planktonic foraminiferal species are described including five new species: Hedbergella kyphoma, Praeglobotruncana compressa, Praeglobotruncana inermis, Praeglobotruncana shirakinensis, and Dicarinella takayanagii., 金沢大学大学院自然科学研究科環境動態, 金沢大学理学部}, pages = {173--192}, title = {Planktonic foraminifera and biochronology of the Cenomanian- Turonian (Cretaceous) sequence in the Oyubari area, Hokkaido, Japan}, volume = {3}, year = {1999} }
