内容記述 | In order to obtain the reliable plane-strain fracture toughness K1c measurement, the side-grooving for test specimen is considered to be one of the effective ways to suppress the formation of plastic zone at the specimen-side. There are several detailed studies about the effect of side-grooving for the double cantilever beam specimen and single-edge-notched tension specimen, and some studies by Rolfe et al. for the bending specimen. But regarding the bending specimen, I could not sufficiently find any detailed information which is necessary for my present study. And then, by investigating these studies, I found that the matter was not so simple about the effect of side-grooving, because that was strongly affected by the groove-depth and the anisotropy of material etc.. This study was carried out to clear up the effect of side-grooving for the ASTM bending specimen (plate thickness B=34mm) whose material was 80kg/mm² grade high tension steel, and to determine the calculating formula of K₁c, Conclusively, it was made clear that the reliable K₁c values ranging -190℃~room temperature are obtained by applying the side-groove whose dimension ratio B/BN≅1.4 (BN : plate thickness at groove-bottom). |
