内容記述 | In the present paper the relations between the change of the composition ratio of employees by industry and that of the spacial distribution of population· since 1880 in Japan is investigated. Consequently, it is ascertained that the urbanization of population has resulted from the innovation in the first industry and that most of the employees have been transfered to the second and the third industries and have concentrated on some special areas. Those areas are vast plains which contain many plateaus and some rivers and are better in the weather conditions than the other areas. Further, the relations between the volumes of inter-regional passengers transported by railroad, the transportation system and the spacial distribution of population in 1968 is investigated. Then, it is found that the population in a region is proportional to the potential of population which is estimated from the regional characteristic depends on the available size of land and the transportation system, and that the regional characteristic depends on the available size of land and the stock of social overhead capital in the region. In addition it is concluded that the annual number of snowy days, the temperature or the annual time of sunshine in a region produces little effect on the characteristic. |
