| 内容記述 | ２つの認知モード（IモードとDモード）を提案し、これにより、文法進化の認知的原理が、IモードからDモードの認知的展開により、捉えることが可能であることを示した。Dモードのメタ認知的機能は、人間の言語能力の根幹をなす再帰性の認知的基盤であり、一方、外置（displacement）は、６層からなる言語進化の第５層目の文法化を決定付ける要因である。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | We have proposed two modes of cognition (I-mode and D-mode) and have shown that the cognitive transition from I-mode to D-mode is critical to the evolution of language. The meta-cognitive function of D-mode makes a conceptual base for the emergence of syntactic recursion which is identified as the only uniquely human component of the faculty of language, whereas displacement itself is a decisive factor for the grammaticalization of categories at layer V of the 6-layer scenario of language evolution. | |||||
