| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to consider synthetically the rapidly changing vocabulary, language and culture of Hong Kong Cantonese developed in the community of Hong Kong, which has a marked difference from the other regions in China. This paper consists of six parts, which have the following contents: In Part One, as an introduction, we clarify our purpose in carrying out the research and survey of the precedent studies on this academic field. Part Two, we analyze “Cantonese words which signify ‘holding without letting go,’” and categorise Cantonese verbs in terms of their aspects. In Part Three we compare “proverbs and their background in the Canton cultural sphere” with Japanese counterparts, and analyze kinship terminology in Hong Kong Cantonese, using native informant questionnaire. Then in Part Five we analyze loanwords from Japanese, which are thought to be now one of the most significant elements of the Hong Kong Catonese, and consider reformation of its vocabulary. Finally, in Part Six, we look back into the change of Hong Kong Cantonese both before and after the turn of the century and discuss the future of the language. | |||||
