| 内容記述 | 商代後期の中国最古の馬具は、西アジアに起源を持つ。この時期には二枝式の銜が発明され、西周時代前期に改良されて一部分が捩じれた形になった。西周前期には３孔を持つ角製のヒョウが西方から伝来し、それを青銅で模したものが発展して西周時代の代表的な型式のヒョウが成立した。西周後期から春秋前期にかけて、銜の外環が大きくなり、そこにヒョウを差し込む型式のくつわが成立した。シベリアでも類似型式が広まったが、それよりも早い。 銜の鋳造には二方法がある。西周時代には、捩じれた８字形部分を２枚の鋳型で鋳造したが、戦国時代には同一平面にある８字形部分を２枚の鋳型で鋳造するように変わった。 |

| 内容記述 | Horse culture was brought in China in the 2nd millennium B.C. In Anyang were found rod-shaped horse-bits, squre-shaped cheek-pieces and U-shaped objects with nail like projections, which were originated in Western Asia. Chain-like horse-bits, made of two 8-shaped parts, were invented in late Shang period, one of which was twisted for innovation in early Western Zhou period. Antler cheek-pieces with 3 holes were brought from the West in early Western Zhou period, and their bronze copies developed into the most typical type of bronze cheek-pieces of this period. From late Western Zhou to early Spring and Autumn period, outer rings of horse-bits became larger, in which inserted now elongated cheek-pieces. Similar horse harness appeared in Siberia in a little later period. Two different processes for casting cheek-pieces are recognized, one for Western Zhou period, the other for Warring State period. |
