This area has been registered as UNESCO’s world cultural heritage\nsite, “Ancient Thebes and its Necropolis” due to its importance as the cultural heritage\nwith universal outstanding value. This area is also known as Qurna Village where several\ngenerations of nearly 200 years had lived in or near the ancient tombs, which had been\ncontinuously robbed by the local people who lived there. Due to the continuous looting in\nthe tombs within the World Cultural Heritage and problems of sewage and garbage by the\nlocal people there, the Egyptian government forced them remove from the area to the new\nvillage built to the north of the World Heritage site. During the relocation of villagers,\ntheir houses were severely demolished in order to revive the ancient landscape of the site.\nThis resulted the damnation of the history of the villagers who were part of the history\nof the World Heritage Site.
