Fertile seeds were germinated and their hybridity was identified by measuring the DNA content using flow cytometry. Most of them were formed when the seed par-ent was I. polycephala. F1 plants showed intermediate characters between the two species, consistent with the description of Ixeris ×sekimotoi in Kitamura(1936).
