内容記述 | This year in 2019, as a next step of our program to promote sustainable development, we decided to include the development of Big Cities, and show the relationship between the urban development and its influence for the nature preservation. Cities populations are increasing drastically, and there are many stressing points for the surrounding nature. To show the inter-dependence of the urban development and nature, we created the course named “Preservation of natural and cultural diversity in big cities, for the sustainable urban development”. In summer 2019, Kanazawa University conducted the Urban Development and Biosphere Reserves training course for 16 Russian students from five partner universities (Lomonosov Moscow State University, Saint Petersburg State University, Kazan Federal University, Altai State University and Irkutsk State University) and showed the linkage between the Kanazawa City and the rural region of UNESCO’s Mount Hakusan Biosphere Reserve. And later, sent 50 Japanese to the Moscow State University, Saint Petersburg State University and Kazan Federal Universities. Students also visited the three big cities of Russia, such as Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Kazan, and visited the surrounding natural reserves inside the cities. In Moscow, they visited the Losiniy Ostrov National Park famous for the elks, UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kolomenskoye, Ethnomir Ethnographic Park and Museum. In Saint Petersburg, students visited the municipal town of Petergof, and in Kazan they were settled inside the summer camp of Kazan Federal University “Burevestink” and visited the Down-Kama National Park. The aim of this Booklet is to introduce the educational activities carried out by Kanazawa University together with Russian Universities and local municipalities. The major outcome of this project was creation of the Cross-Cultural Dialog between Russian and Japanese youth, in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 17, to contribute for the future sustainable development of each country through the partnership and networking. |
