| 内容記述 | 本研究では、言語地理学が言語史を再構成するための有力な手法であるとの認識に立ちながら、従来指摘されてきた方言地図解釈の恣意性を克服するために、日本、中国、フランスの方言地図を素材として、いかなる条件があれば当該現象が生起するかという変化の一般性、普遍性を帰納することをめざした。“対照言語地理学”と呼んだこの手法には、類音牽引、同音衝突、混淆の現象を異なる言語の方言地図を素材に比較するPhenomenon-basedの対照と、特定の語彙項目を比較するItem-basedの対照がある。研究成果は、期間中に開催された2度の国際会議において、本研究グループとしての成果を発表した。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | In this project, we have endeavored to compare and analyze the linguistic maps of three genetically unrelated languages, Japanese, Chinese and French, thereby finding out if any common mechanism is at work across these languages involving specific lexical changes. This method is referred to as "Contrastive Geo-linguistics". The target of our analysis includes two types: phenomenon-based type and item-based type. The former type focuses on one specific geo-linguistic phenomenon, e.g., homonymic collision or phonetic attraction. This type, excluding the differences of lexical item and area size from consideration, compares the maps of different languages which exhibit the same pattern of distribution, such as AB and ABA distribution. The latter type compares the maps of one specific lexical item shared by these three languages, e.g., snake or corn. The fruites of this study were presented at the two international conferences held in 2018 and 2019. | |||||
