| 内容記述 | This study investigated how international students in Japan are incorporated into the Japanese labor market with a particular focus on those from South and Southeast Asian countries. More specifically, it delved into three issues, involving (1) the relationship between international students’ part-time work experiences and skill development during the school period, (2) the extent to which these students enter the labor market post-graduation, and (3) the characteristics of occupations of those who found employment in Japan. Regarding the third issue, the study suggested that they are employed as a workforce that serves the migrant population and/or supplements shortages of native-born workers. | |||||

| 内容記述 | 日本における外国人留学生、とくに南・東南アジア地域出身の学生に焦点を当てて、日本の労働市場への編入の様態を調査した。より具体的には、（１）留学生の在学中のアルバイト経験とスキルの発展の関係性、（２）卒業後における労働市場への編入の程度、（３）日本での就職者の職種の特徴を考察した。職種の特徴としては、顧客または同僚として非日本人との接触がある、そして／または、労働条件の観点から日本人が集まりにくいことを指摘した。 | |||||
