Afib has two aspects, tachycardia and pulse irregularity, and the effect of tachycardia on heart failure or stroke has been well-investigated, while no reports regarding the effect of pulse irregularity have not been found. Therefore, we ought to investigate whether pulse irregularity played an vital role in thrombogenesis using porcine hearts.\nUnder general anesthesia, porcine hearts were surgically paced for two hours. Blood samples were taken before and after pacing, and coagulation and inflammation markers were evaluated.
