(1)2007年の中国政府の決定により、全く新しい展開を見せている香港の民主化問題について、現状を説明できる理論枠組みを再構築すること、
(2)香港の民主化が、急速な経済発展の中で、断固として社会主義の政治体制を維持している中国本国の政治に対して与える影響力を検証することを目的とした。香港での文献調査・インタビュー調査・選挙観察を通じた成果は、研究代表者の単著『中国返還後の香港』ほか多数の論文に反映された。, The aims of this research are:
