By the laboratory experiments, it was confirmed that the ice nucleating activity of Pseudomonas syringae (Snowmax: artificial snow inducer) was decreased by the heat treatment at low temperature. This heat sensitivity of ice nucleating bacteria is different from the sensitivities of other ice nuclei. It was also observed that the numbers of ice nuclei in fresh snow were decreased by the heat treatment at low temperature.
