Sixty rats were randomly assigned to 3 groups. Physiological saline (control group), Type I collagen gel, or a mixture of ADRC and Type I collagen gel (ADRC group) was injected into the distracted callus immediately after distraction termination.\nThe bone density of the distracted callus in the ADRC group increased by 46% compared with the control group at 6 weeks after injection. The fracture strength in the ADRC group increased by 66% compared with the control group at 6 weeks after injection. Real-time PCR of the distracted callus from the ADRC group had higher levels of BMP-2, VEGF A, and SDF-1.
