R=Methyl, Ethyl, n-Propyl, n-Butyl, etc.)」を用いた機能性フォトクロミック単結晶の構築である。平成22年度は、昨年度に続き下記3つの現象の分子レベルでの解明・理解に努め、次の成果を得た。1.結晶内で連動する分子構造変化(R=n-Propyl):熱による戻りの反応のダイナミクスを検討し、熱反応過程においても光反応と同様な結晶内共同現象を観測した。2.フォトクロミック反応に誘起される表面ナノ構造変化と結晶相転移(R=Ethyl):同一結晶で観測される独立した2つの現象を、光照射強度によって制御可能であることを見いだした。3.光誘起結晶形状変化(R=Ethyl, n-Butyl, n-Pentyl):針状結晶の屈曲現象と配位子のアルキル鎖長との相関を調べ、「長鎖アルキル基による結晶への柔軟性の付与」が光誘起形状変化の発現において重要な役割を担っていることを明らかにした。本研究を通して得られた知見は、いずれもフォトクロミック単結晶の新機能の創出に繋がるものである。本年度得られた成果は、PACIFICHEM
