| 内容記述 | The bankers' acceptance market had some great changes in the latter half of the 1930's. The Federal Reserve Banks(FRBs) were the biggest holders of acceptances in the 1920's. But the accepting banks had taken the place of them in 1931. Then, the FRBs had held no acceptances for their own account in 1935. The bankers' acceptance market outstanding of the each year during the 1940's was about the same as that of the beginnings of the market. The bankers' acceptance outstanding had begun to increase since the middle of the 1940's. In 1955, the FRBs started to hold acceptances for their own account again. But, in the latter half of the 1950's, the biggest holders of acceptances were other than the FRBs and the accepting banks. Thus the bankers' acceptances market had become the self-supporting market that had the various suppliers of funds. In the fourth quarter of the 1950's, the domestic position of the bankers' acceptance market was established through the influence of the increasing use by the Asian countries(primarily Japan). But the internationalization of the bankers' acceptance market was restricted by the development of the Euro-dollar(Euro-currency) market. |
