Relative density of sand layer is increased by space dilatation by using MLT method. First, increase of the relative density of sand layer was theoretically estimated by space dilatation theory. Then laboratory tests were conducted by a model auger screw and sand box. The results of laboratory tests showed good agreement with our estimation and increase of relative density of sand layer was verified. A field test was also conducted.
