Polymer powders were directly subjected to Ar-induction thermal plasmas. A high-speed video camera, with a bandpass filter, was used to measure the spatial distribution of the spectral radiation intensity of C2 molecules included in the polymer-ablated vapor. Numerical prediction was also undertaken to obtain the C2 molecular fraction distribution.
