| 内容記述 | 本研究は、チベットのポン教の図像にかんする本格的な研究を構築することを目的とする。そのために、基礎的な画像資料および文献資料の収集、情報データベースの構築、図像体系の解明を行った。最終的にポン教の図像学的研究という新たな学問領域を確立することをめざした。これらを通して、日本におけるチベット学や東洋美術史において、従来、見過ごされていたポン教美術に焦点を当て、その図像を中心とした研究を世界的なレベルに引き上げるようつとめた。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This project aims to make a full-scale research of the iconography of the Bon religion in Tibet. For this purpose, I exhaustively collected the iconographic materials of the Bon religion which include both images and literatures. I also constructed the database which provides this information on the internet, and I clarified the system of the iconography of the Bon religion. Finally I established a new academic field of the iconographic study of the Bon religion in Tibetan studies. Through these academic activities, I raised the standards of the iconographic study of the Bon religion which has been overlooked by the scholars in Oriental art studies as well as Tibetan studies in Japan so far. | |||||
