| 内容記述 | 陸棲シアノバクテリア (Nostoc commune)は,非常に強い乾燥耐性を示す光合成生物である。本研究では,無水環境下における生命維持機構に関わる機能性分子のひとつとしてマイコスポリン様アミノ酸(MAA)を解析した。本生物がもつ新規MAAは,糖を結合した特異な化学構造をもち,抗酸化活性を示す多機能性分子であることを明らかにした。また,遺伝子型ごとに含まれているMAA配糖体の違いが発見され,N. communeは3種類の型に大別されることが分かった。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | Mycosporine-like amino acids (MAAs) are water-soluble pigments that absorb UV radiation of 280 to 340 nm. In this study, novel MAAs were purified from the terrestrial cyanobacterium Nostoc commune, and their chemical structures were characterized. These unique glycosylated MAAs have multiple roles as a UV protectant and an antioxidant relevant to anhydrobiosis in this organism. Moreover, glycosylated MAA patterns could be a feasible chemotaxonomic marker for the characterization of the morphologically indistinguishable N. commune. | |||||
