| 内容記述 | 哺乳類における概日リズム中枢は視交叉上核(SCN)である。SCNは約２万の、多様な種類のニューロンから構成される。本研究では、SCNの主要な二つのニューロンタイプ、AVPニューロンとVIPニューロンのみで概日時計の分子機構が機能すれば、SCN全体や行動の概日リズム発振に十分であるとの可能性を検討したが、否定的な結果が得られた。その他、AVPニューロンやVIPニューロンの電気生理学的性質の日内変動を見出すなどの成果を得た。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | The suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), the primary circadian pacemaker in mammals, is a network structure composed of multiple types of neurons. Here, we examined the possibility that functional molecular machinery of the circadian clocks only in AVP neurons and VIP neurons, two major neuron types of the SCN, is sufficient for the generation of circadian rhythms of the SCN and behavior, which was not supported by the experimental results. We also obtained several other results, including the observation of diurnal rhythms in the activity of AVP neurons and VIP neurons in SCN slices. | |||||
