| 内容記述 | 本研究では中国の山東省に位置する威海衛に着目し、中国農村内部の社会結合をめぐる英国人植民地官僚の認識が、東アジアの英領植民地・租借地の統治政策にいかなる影響を与えたのかを分析しようと試みた。 現時点では、当初設定した作業仮説は検証の途上にあるが、資料の調査を通じて、威海衛関連史料の概要を把握することができたほか、さらに検討すべき史料群の存在も明らかとなった。こうした史料群の収集、および本研究を踏まえた上での研究成果の公表は、最終年度前年度申請の結果、2017年度から新たに採択された基盤研究Cにおいて継続して取り組んでいる。 |

| 内容記述 | This study aims at how the British colonial officials' perception of rural China affected the governance of Weihaiwei, a British leased territory situated in Shandong peninsula on the China coast. For the time being the working hypothesis conceived in the first stage of the project has not been proved completely. However, through the investigation of historical documents concerning Weihaiwei the applicant could obtain the general idea of the amount and the location of them, as well as related materials which have not been used fully in the existing literatures. Now the applicant is continuing to investigate these documents and write academic articles in another project adopted as Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research C. |
