| 内容記述 | In this report, we introduce a successful example of usage of an English e-Learning system, i.e., ALC NetAcademy2, in an English class of ‘Technical English Exercise’ (which is offered for third-year students in School of Mechanical Engineering, Collage of Science and Engineering, Kanazawa University). We evaluated the effectiveness of combination of e-Learning systems and English classes, using TOEIC equivalent scores obtained from the e-Learning system. In 2010, ninety-seven students participated in this class in the first or second semester. The average score was approximately 400 points at the beginning of this class. However, at the end of the class, the score was approximately improved up to 500 points. Although e-Learning systems are generally designed and developed for self study, the effectiveness is likely further enhanced by an appropriate instruction, e.g., a schedule management by teachers. We conclude that the combination of e-Learning systems and English classes can effectively improve student’s English skills. | |||||
