As a result, chicanes have a certain effect of speed control of vehicles, however, traffic safety consciousness of pedestrians were not improved because of a shortage of spaces for pedestrians. It. is important for traffic calming in a residential area that traffic regulations are applied and that methods and tools for experimental arrangement are improved.", "subitem_description_type": "金沢市では、地区交通計画のモデル地区として長町地区で整備を進めている。本研究では、整備の一環として同地区の街路において実験的に2種類のシケインを設置し、交通環境の整備効果を調査研究するとともに、実験の有効性について検討した。その結果、シケインの設置により自動車速度の減速効果は確認されたが、歩行空間が十分に確保できず、歩行者の安全感を向上させることができなかった。原因として、現状の対面通行を前提にシケインを設置したことに加えて、実験方法に問題があったことが考えられる。今後、交通規制の検討と実験方法の確立が急務である。",
